Reactions As Senate President Lawan Joins Presidential Race
Reactions have trailed the report that Senate President Ahmad Lawan has declared his ambition to be the next President in 2023.
Naija News reports that Lawan joined the long list of presidential aspirants under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 general elections on Monday.
A group of his friends led by Chief Sam Nkire, a member of the National Caucus of the ruling party and 15 other Senators, purchased the form for him at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The Senate President becomes the 24th presidential aspirant to pick the N100m APC expression of interest and nomination forms.
Following the development, Nigerians have taken to social media to express their views regarding the Senate President joining the 2023 presidential race.
While some Nigerians commended Lawan for declaring his intention to become the next president, others lambasted him for his poor leadership of the National Assembly.
