Premier League top club, Liverpool have booked their place in the final of the UEFA Champions League.

The Reds recorded a massive win against Villarreal on Tuesday night after beating the host team 3-2.

A goal each from Fabinho, Luiz Diaz and Sadio Mane saw the Reds sway Villarreal men’s efforts from the first half.

Naija News understands that Unai Emery’s men started well at the Estadio de la Ceramica stadium by making Jurgen Klopp’s men uncomfortable with a quick 3rd minute goal from B. Dia.

Villarreal puts the Reds in doubt with another goal in the 41st minute by F Coquelin.

In what seems like a show-off, Liverpool makes a mockery of the moment by returning three goals in the second half to kick out the host team from the Champions League title chase.

Liverpool now awaits a winner from either Real Madrid or their title rival, Manchester City who will face each other tomorrow to play in the UEFA Champions League final.

Meanwhile, Russian football clubs (men and women) have been ruled out from participating in international and club competitions.

The ban was announced on Monday, May 2 by the European football governing body, UEFA.

Naija News understands that the development means the country’s football clubs would not be participating in the Champions League and all other European competitions next season.

The sanction is coming in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in recent months.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s government has received numerous sanctions lately for unleashing terror attacks on Ukraine.

The continuous war between the European countries has recorded hundreds of casualties already and UEFA as a concerned body has decided to punish Russia for pulling the trigger first, Naija News reports.
