2023: ‘I Won’t Work For You’ – PDP National Chairman, Ayu Tells Atiku

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu on Thursday informed the presidential candidate of the party in the 2019 general elections, Atiku Abubakar that he would not work for him as an aspirant.

He, however, stated that he has been friends with the former Vice President for more than 30 years as they were key players in the emergence of Chief MKO Abiola.

According to Ayu, it was he and Atiku that plotted the emergence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He added that the Obasanjo administration did very well and put Nigeria on a healthy map economically, socially and politically.

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has said those contesting for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against Vice President Yemi Osinbajo are shivering over his credentials.

Malami Declares Interest In Kebbi Governorship Race

The Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami has joined the race for the Kebbi State governorship seat in 2023.

The Minister declared his intention on Thursday, and would be seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Naija News understands.

According to Malami in a report published by The Nation, he joined the race in response to calls from his people to serve the state as their Governor.

Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District and former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, has officially dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and 2023 presidential aspirant, Kingsley Moghalu has tackled some aides of President Muhammadu Buhari who have refused to resign their positions and are seeking elective offices in the 2023 elections.

Moghalu on Thursday described such persons as selfish people who lack honour and transparency.

Naija News reports some of those affected are the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, his colleague in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige as well as the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba.

2023: I Have 11 Million Votes To Return PDP To Power – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has promised to return the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to power come 2023.

Speaking ahead of the party’s National Convention slated for 28 and 29 May 2022, Atiku Abubakar said he already has eleven million votes in his kitty to help the party return to leadership.

The 2019 presidential candidate of the PDP said he deserved the right of first refusal for the party’s ticket.

2023 Election: SDP National Chairman, Olu Agunloye Resigns

The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr Olu Agunloye, has officially resigned from his position, with immediate effect.

In a chat with reporters on Wednesday in Abuja, Agunloye said his resignation was to respect the zoning arrangement in the party.

He disclosed that the party has zoned its 2023 presidential ticket to the South, stressing that all positions held by Southerners are now zoned to the North.
