Angry Youths Chase Ondo lawmaker Out Of Hometown [Video]

Some angry youths in Owo, Ondo State, on Tuesday, chased out the majority leader of the state House of Assembly, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, popularly known as ‘West’, from the town.

Naija News learned that the youths, numbering up to fifty, chased the lawmaker and his entourage out of Iloro community over alleged poor performance and imposition.

It was gathered that Ogunmolasuyi, who represents Owo Constituency 1, was harassed during a meeting with some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the community.

In a viral video, the youths were heard raining insults on the lawmaker and his entourage as he was whisked away by his security details.

Reacting to the incident, the lawmaker said he was not chased out of the town, rather he was attacked by political thugs allegedly recruited by some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members.

Ogunmolasuyi denied claims of underperformance and imposition, saying he has given out scholarships, and palliatives and carried out several developmental projects in his constituency.

He told reporters: “I was there to meet with my party people. It was after I left those people in the video are thugs. I have left and was told there was a video circulating.

“Those guys are thugs. Those guys are not the people that will reject anybody. They were all PDP people. PDP has failed and they are looking for a way to make themselves popular through me.

“My contribution is enough to speak for me. If I have not done well, I will not come out to say I want to contest.

“I have represented my people well and done so many things. That is why I can say I want to seek re-election.”
