Former governor of Anambra State and 2023 Presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, has said that every Nigerian deserves to be treated with fairness.

The politician said this on Monday while inaugurating the Peter Obi Support Network, (POSN) National and Zonal Coordinators in Abuja, Naija News reports.

According to him, Nigerians cannot continue to live in mutual suspicion.

Obi noted that doing differently had denied the nation of having the best hands in governance.

He preached love among the citizens, irrespective of religious and political background, saying that was the only way the nation can develop.

Naija News reports that Obi is seeking to contest the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While being optimistic about his candidacy, Obi observed that mistrust among the elite and the political class was the bane of the nation’s lack of good leadership which was also responsible for the lack of development.

He said, “we can’t continue to live in mutual suspicion of each other in this country; we must love each other; we must build a country where everybody is treated fairly, equally and justly.

“There is nothing to share again, let’s start taking people out of poverty, once cane takes people out of poverty, you can go home and rest.”

Meanwhile, former Senate President and 2023 presidential aspirant, Bukola Saraki said it is the turn of the north-central region to produce Nigeria’s next president.

He said the region has suffered, sacrificed, and endured a lot for the country and deserves a shot at the presidency.

Naija News reports Saraki submitted on Tuesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital while addressing members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

According to him, the north-central region had in the past laboured and made sacrifices for other regions to get to power, but now, it is the turn of the region to take the power.

His position comes amidst calls for power rotation and zoning and the need for the 2023 presidency to be given to the south.
