Why We Sent 97 Clerics To Saudi Arabia To Pray Against Banditry - Zamfara Govt

The Zamfara State Government has revealed the reason it sent 97 Islamic clerics to Saudi Arabia to go and pray against banditry.

Speaking on Wednesday, the deputy governor, Hassan Nasiha, said the government sent the clerics to the Holy land as part of strategies to restore peace and security in the state and in Nigeria in general.

Nasiha added that the clerics will engage in prayer sessions in almost all strategic holy places of worship in the cities of Makkah and Madina.

The deputy governor admonished the clerics to remember the state and its people in their prayers in order for bandits to stop their criminal activities.

Delivering a sermon at the departure, a cleric, Atiku Balarabe, called on his fellow clerics to concentrate on their worship and prayers in Saudi Arabia.

He said they should constantly remember that they were representative of all citizens of the state and to seek God’s intervention to bring an end to banditry and other crimes in the state.

Balarabe said they must concentrate on the prayers to meet the state’s expectations considering the trust reposed in them by millions of people of the state.

Recall that the Zamfara Governor, Bello Matawalle, had distributed more than 200 Cadillac 2019 models to traditional rulers in the state.
