NPFL: Top Stats From Matchday 24

It was the highest-scoring weekend in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as 32 goals were scored.

Naija News reports that the highest scorer was Akwa United, who thrashed struggling Nasarawa United 6-1 under their new manager, Coach Ayeni.

In Aba, it was a cruise for Finidi’s Enyimba as they hammered Kano Pillars 4-0 but it wasn’t a good evening in Lagos as relegation fighters, MFM FC lost 0-2 to Wikki Tourists as they close to confirming their relegation from the top flight.
In a twist, the two league chasers, Plateau and Rivers United lost by the same scoreline 1-0 to Heartland and Sunshine Stars respectively.

Etido Dan scored on his first full debut for Dakkada FC against Remo Stars.
Akwa United have now scored 6+ goals in an NPFL match for the first time in their history.
Kano Pillars have now suffered their heaviest defeat to Enyimba FC in the NPFL since they got promoted in 2001.
Enyimba FC won an NPFL match by 4+ goal margin for the first time since August 2017 (4-0 Wikki Tourists).
Nasarawa United have now conceded 10 goals in their last 3 NPFL matches, equalling the same amount of goals they conceded in the 11 matches before.
Nasarawa United conceded 6 goals in a match for the first time ever in the NPFL. It [6-1] is also their biggest defeat ever in the league.
