The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced its meeting at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari, members of the Progressives Governors Forum, state chairmen, former governors and many other stakeholders of the ruling party are at the meeting.

The newly-elected National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu is presiding over the meeting.

The meeting aims to ratify a date for the party’s presidential primaries and the mode of nomination of its presidential candidate among others.

Adamu while addressing the committee noted that the meeting is the first the National Working Committee will be having with the NEC.

The former Nasarawa State Governor further stated that the meeting will be targeted towards uniting aggrieved members as well as discussing upcoming elections.

He called on members of the party to show exemplary behaviours, as problems within the party are fueled by ego.

The APC National Chairman claimed that various egos within the party led to the rift between the former and serving governors which has divided members of the party.

Adamu called for an end to differences within the party because there is no reason for the competition.

He charged serving governors to work harmoniously with their former governors to resolve issues affecting the party.

The party chairman urged members to desist from using the media to settle grievances but resort to the constitutional provisions of the party for dispute resolution.
