The PUNCH: There are strong indications that the Peoples Democratic Party have settled for indirect primaries to pick its 2023 presidential candidate on May 29. It was also gathered that the opposition party was looking at ways of reducing its current 17 presidential aspirants by encouraging consensus talks among them so that some of them would step down.

The Guardian: Following the last national grid collapse, making it the fifth time in two months and the third in about 30 days, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMEs), institutions of learning and artisanal vocations in Southwestern states are fast collapsing. Daily Trust: Presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) among them Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and others are to battle for 7,800 delegates to grab the party’s ticket for the 2023 general elections, Daily Trust reports.

Daily SUN: There are fresh fears that the All Progressives Congress (APC) may run into troubled waters as its leadership appear divided over decision to officially order political appointees at the state and federal levels to resign ahead of its primaries.
