Kidnappers in Taraba who abducted a pregnant woman have refused to release her after she went into labor while in captivity except her ransom is paid.

The gunmen had abducted the 9-months-old pregnant woman alongside six others including one Sharabilu Maaji Bala, in Jalingo.

According to Daily Trust, the kidnappers abducted the victims on Saturday April 16, at the Primary Board Area in Jalingo at 3 am.

The abductors had reportedly robbed about three houses in the area for a duration of 40 minuites.

The pregnant woman who is based in Kano had decided to pay a visit to her parent’s home during her maternity leave when the incident happened.

While with the abductors, the father got a call from them informing him that his daughter is in labor and if her ransom is not paid she would not be released.

Usman Abdullahi, spokesperson of the State Police Command, confirmed the incident but did not give details into the situation.

Meanwhile, a Facebook user, Abba Gana shared a photo of his sister who was among those kidnapped.
