Sokoto Assembly Speaker Dumps APC For PDP

The Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Muhamad Achida has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Naija News understands the Speaker announced his defection during the house plenary on Thursday.

He disclosed that the State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal played a huge role in his decision to dump the APC for the PDP.

Similarly, a member of the state House of Assembly representing Wammako 2Constituemcy, Murtala Bello Maigona has also dumped the APC for the PDP.

Meanwhile, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Wednesday denied reports that he has secretly picked a Senatorial form incase his presidential bid fails.

He stated this while speaking to delegates and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Calabar, Cross River State.

He accused some PDP presidential aspirants of sending their allies to pick up Senatorial forms on their behalf in case there is a consensus.

Wike also disclosed that he is not running for the presidency so as to put him in a good position to negotiate for the Vice presidential ticket.

“I am here to introduce myself to you. We have started the process and I have made myself available to people of Cross River,” Wike said.

“I am running for the President and I am not running for running sake. I will win the party ticket and win the Presidency of this country.

“I am not running to negotiate for Vice President or for anything. I have not collected senate form or any form in case I fail. Some people have sent in their cronies to collect senate forms on their behalf in case there is a consensus.
