Why I Appointed Women As Finance Ministers - Buhari

Nigerians have reacted to the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari not to step down from office over rising insecurity in the country.

Recall that the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) had called on Buhari to resign immediately following the incessant attacks and killings in the North and the country as a whole.

In response to the NEF, President Buhari said his resignation call is not a solution to the security problems rocking the country, adding that his government has taken major steps that will soon yield results in the fight against insecurity.

In a statement on Wednesday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, President Buhari said he will not be drawn into a high-decibel show in the media.

The president added that only failed politicians who have failed use such kind of publicity to connect with the voters in a democracy.

However, some Nigerians have taken to social media to slam the presidency for failing to address the incessant killings of innocent Nigerians by terrorists.

While supporters of the Buhari government hailed the presidency for calling out the Northern elders for playing politics with insecurity.
