Shehu Sani Reacts As Buhari Govt Set To Ban Ponmo

A former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the call by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) for President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately resign from office following the killings in the country.

Naija News had earlier reported that the Director, Publicity and Advocacy of NEF, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, made the call in a statement on Tuesday.

According to Baba-Ahmed, President Buhari’s administration does not appear to have answers to the security challenges in the country.

The NEF spokesman added that the Nigerian constitution allows leaders to voluntarily step down if they prove incapable of leading.

Baba-Ahmed noted that criminals in the country have sensed the vacuum at the highest levels of leadership.

Reacting in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Tuesday evening, Shehu Sani disagreed with the northern elders for asking President Buhari to resign from office.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart advised the NEF to allow the president to finish his tenure and conduct the 2023 general elections.

He wrote: “Our respectable Northern Elders want Buhari to resign; I humbly disagree, allow Sai Baba to finish his tenure and conduct elections.
