Death is inevitable for every living thing and is the ultimate end for every living being, though the timing is always different for everyone.

Naija News has compiled a list of some prominent Nigerians who died in the month of April 2022.

1. Osinachi Nwachukwu

Osinachi Nwachukwu

Popular gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu died in Abuja on Friday, 8th April 2022. Her death has thrown the entire entertainment industry in Nigeria into mourning.

Though early reports claimed she died from throat cancer, it later emerged that the popular singer might have died as a result of domestic violence suffered in the hands of her husband, Peter.

The reports of the domestic violence which is now widely believed to have led to her death and corroborated by a family source has sparked angry reactions from Nigerians who say it is better to end a marriage that is not working than to lose one’s life because of what people will say.

Osinachi died at the age of 42.

2. Joseph Makoju

Former Presidential Aide, Joseph Makoju Is Dead

Joseph Oyeyani Makoju, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has been pronounced dead.

Naija News gathered that the former presidential aide died at a private hospital in Abuja on Monday.

Makoju was also a former Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Cement Plc, one of the subsidiaries of Dangote Group.

Makoju was born on 13 July 1948 in Okene, Kogi State, North Central Nigeria.

3. Dejo Tunfulu

Nigerians React To Death Of Comic Actor, Dejo Tunfulu

Dejo Tunfulu

Nigerian comic actor, Kunle Mac-Tokunbo popularly known as Dejo Tunfulu died on April 1, 2022.

His death threw the Nollywood industry into mourning as fans and colleagues took to various social media platforms to mourn the actor and reminisce on how he made them laugh in movies and skits.

He has since been buried at the Agbowa area of Ikorodu in Lagos State.

4. Easy Sawaba

Easy Sawaba

One of the greatest forces to reckon with in the Fuji genre of Nigeria’s music industry, Alhaji Isiaka Iyanda Sawaba popularly known as Easy Sawaba, also died in April 2022.

Naija News reports that the Fuji enthusiast was aged 71 when he died.

Sawaba, as he is fondly called, is a veteran musician who had a major career in the Fuji music industry in the 1970s and 1980s.

Until his death, he dropped more than twenty-two albums, including Suru, Igbo Odaju, Pata Olokun, Ayetoto and Oroseniwo among others from the stable of old Adetunji Records (Babalaje Records) owned by the present Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1.
