The PUNCH Plans by governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party to ensure that one of them emerges as the party’s presidential candidate may have suffered a setback, Saturday PUNCH has learnt. This, according to findings, is due to the unfriendly utterances by the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, against some of his colleagues, party chieftains and presidential aspirants in the party.


The Guardian: Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has said he will not tolerate buck-passing in matters of security, if voted in as Nigeria’s president, but will ensure that governors secure their states.


Vanguard: Agyema is a community of Agatu speaking people in Ekye Development Area of Nasarawa state. This community of about 12,000 inhabitants is located near the River Benue and surrounded by other Agatu villages like Otia, Anagoga, Tariga, Olegangulu and others. Agyema is about 10kilometers from Agbashi, the headquarters of Ekye Development Area and about 50kilometers from Lafia, the state capital.


This Day: The quest by some presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for a consensus flagbearer for the party ahead of their Presidential primaries is looking more like a fruitless mission, with former vice president Atiku Abubakar and two others (Dele Momodu and Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa) insisting that all aspirants must face the party’s delegates in “democratic primary election.


The Nation: Following reports that the Governor Samuel Ortom Committee had recommended that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should not zone the presidency in 2023, the presidential gladiators in the party have shifted lobby to the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Board of Trustees (BoT).
