Liverpool would be travelling to the Etihad Stadium this weekend ahead of Sunday’s English Premier League match against Manchester City, Naija News reports.

Speaking ahead of the mouth-watering clash, the Reds manager, Jurgen Klopp, admitted that his counterpart at City, Pep Guardiola is right now the best coach in the world.

The German coach during his press conference earlier today said: “Pep is the best coach in the world.

“I think we would all agree on that and it might be a coincidence that it didn’t work out in the Champions League so far.”

If anybody doubts him, I have no idea how that could happen,” he said.

Naija News understands that Liverpool had held City to a 2-2 draw in their first leg played at Anfield in October 2022.

City has so far played 30 matches in the ongoing campaign, the same as Liverpool.

Sunday’s match is a daring match for both sides as only a point separates the two top clubs.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Senate have directed the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare as well as the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to appear before it to explain why the team failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup despite support.

The Super Eagles, playing at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja on March 29th, drew 1-1 with visiting Black Stars of Ghana.

Ghana by the virtue of their one away goal picked the all-important ticket at the expense of Nigeria who had over 60, 000 fans in the stadium

But the Senate says it is investigating the failure of the team to qualify despite the huge funds put into the exercise by the federal government and corporate bodies.

The Senate disclosed this during Tuesday’s legislative proceedings.

The Upper Chamber will also investigate the vandalism of the facilities at the Stadium in the aftermath of Nigeria’s loss to Ghana.

No date has been fixed for their appearance.
