NURTW Takes Action Against MC Oluomo, Dissolves Lagos Council

Nigerians have reacted to the appointment of the ex-chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo, as the chairman of the state motor parks.

Naija News had earlier reported that the Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had appointed MC Oluomo as the head of the Parks Management Committee in the state.

In a statement on Thursday morning, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said the appointment was to avoid any vacuum in the management of commercial vehicle operations in the state.

He added that former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has been appointed as the Liaison Officer between the government and the committee.

Omotosho also stated that Sulyman Ojora would serve as the Deputy Chairman and ex-Permanent Secretary, Dr. Taiwo Salaam, who would act as the secretary of the management committee.

Following the announcement, some Nigerians took to social media to slam the Lagos government for appointing MC Oluomo as the head of the motor parks in the state.

While others expressed worry over the appointment of the former NURTW chairman in the state, saying that MC Oluomo has a say in the affairs of the state government.
