UEFA Super Cup: Ancelotti Unveils Real Madrid Squad To Face Eintracht Frankfurt

Real Madrid star, Kareem Benzema became a ‘thorn in the flesh’ against Chelsea last night in the UEFA Champions quarter-final first-leg tie at Stamford Bridge.

The French footballer scored a hat-trick against the Blues on Wednesday night to earn his side a 1-3 victory, Naija News reports.

It was a devastating night for Chelsea, and Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has said that the Los Blancos played better against Thomas Tuchel’s men.

He added that they were dangerous against the host and that was why they won the match.

“We played better this night, we played a good game and deserved to win,” Ancelotti told belN SPORTS during a post-match interview.

The Italian coach added: “We have another 90 minutes. We have to be careful because Chelsea are a good team and the winner of [last season’s] Champions League.

“I am happy with the performance. We planned to adapt from the back, find space between lines and attack the three backs and we were really dangerous.”

Naija News understands that Real Madrid will host Chelsea in the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu next week.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, has taken to social media to cry out about his life since the failure of the Nigerian team to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Uzoho who noted that his failure to save a Thomas Partey long-range shot, which prevented the Eagles from securing a spot in the World Cup finals has been the worst of his life.

The game ended 1-1, giving the Ghanaians an away goal advantage.

He has now joined Williams Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun in apologizing for the outcome of the match.

The 23-year-old took to Instagram to express how he has been feeling since the game.
