Troops Recover Weapons From Boko Haram Camps In Sambisa

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the Northeast have recovered weapons from Boko Haram camps during its recent clearance operations in Sambisa forest.

The General Officer Commanding 7 Division of the Nigeria Army, Major-General Christopher Musa, made this known during a visit of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Farouk Yahaya to the division on Tuesday.

Speaking, Yahaya commended troops for capturing a large number of weapons and destroying the camps of the terrorists.

He appreciated the troops appreciate the troops for their commitment and zeal in dealing with the terrorists, asking the soldiers to do more.

The Chief of Army Staff asked the terrorists to lay down their arms as soon as possible before it is too late.

He said: “The weapons that were captured from these terrorists speak for themselves.

“And we cannot but appreciate the troops and urge them to do even more. I am very impressed with the commitment and zeal I am seeing in the theatre and indeed all our theatres of operations.

“Challenges are part of operations but the military and other agencies are not deterred by the few setbacks we’ve had. But we are determined to defeat this enemy. Our call to all these terrorists and bandits is to know that the tide is against them.”

In a related development,  Boko Haram insurgents in the early hours of Wednesday attacked Damboa village in Borno State.

It was gathered that the terrorists burn down the Damboa General Hospital and other buildings in the village.

However, troops of Operation Hadin Kai engaged them in a heavy gun battle.
