Terrorists Kill Three, Abduct Many In Taraba Mosque During Iftar

Terrorists have reportedly kidnapped an unconfirmed number of people in Baba Juli village in the Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The criminals according to reports, stormed the area on Tuesday evening while Muslim worshippers were breaking their fast.

Three people were immediately killed in the attack, Naija News learnt.

The assailants numbering about 50, reportedly attacked the mosque where they abducted many worshippers observing their Iftar and took them to an unknown location.

Reports had it that the terrorists had in March attacked the village but were forced to flee after a serious exchange of fire with security operatives.

Speaking, however, on the recent attack, a resident of the village who spoke with DailyTrust said, “Yesterday’s attack caught us unawares. We were breaking our fasting inside the mosque when we started hearing gunshots and there was nothing we could do to counter the terrorists.”

The spokesperson for Taraba State Police Command, DSP Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the incident but said he was waiting for more details from the police Divisional office in Bali.

Meanwhile, two security men have been murdered by gunmen at Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to Daily Trust, the victims were killed for attending a prayer session organized by the governor of Anambra of state, Charles Soludo.

The unfortunate incident which occurred during Monday’s sit-at-home order took place after the prayer session had ended.

DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the state police command spokesman, said that only one person was murdered during the attack.

He explained further that the incident occurred around 10.30 pm on Monday April 4.
The hoodlums had invaded the area and began to shoot nonstop along the road close to Aguata LGA Secretariat before the bullet hit one of the Church security men.
