EFCC Drags Ex-Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello To Court Over Alleged N80bn Fraud

The governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello has opened up on the reason he did not contest for presidency in 2015.

The governor accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of doing little to develop infrastructure in the country.

He explained further that the current administration was doing well and that’s the reason he did not challenge President Muhammadu Buhari for the All Progressives Congress presidential ticket in 2015.

Bello praised the president for his infrastructural development and maintained that this was the reason he decided to contest in 2023 so he can continue where Buhari stopped.

The governor said this during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

The Governor officially declared for the post at the week, when he promised to raise 20 million millionaires in seven years if elected.

According to him:“Today, I am running to build on the successes of President Muhammadu Buhari because of his performance,” the governor said during the current affairs show.

“In 2015, I dare not because there was no foundation whatsoever to build upon. But today under APC, President Muhammadu Buhari has been able to lay the foundation that I can build upon.
