Ten Suspected Cultists Nabbed With Illicit Drugs In Delta

Delta State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested ten young men suspected to be members of an occultic group.

The suspects, Naija News understands were apprehended in Udu/Otu-Jeremi communities both in Udu and Ughelli South Local Government Areas of the state.

Exactly 101 wraps of SK, four packs of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, and 10mg of substances suspected to be cocaine were reportedly recovered from the suspects.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, the command said the young men were nabbed by the Raider’s Operatives of the force in the state.

CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed in the statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe that the suspects were arrested during a raid of suspected cultist hideouts in the Community.

The statement noted that they will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man identified as Ibrahim Sikiru has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing his father, Mumuni Ibrahim.

Sikiru was apprehended after a neighbour, Onipanu Sunday, lodged a complaint at the Onipanu divisional headquarters.

Sunday disclosed that the victim, a security guard, had returned home in the morning and met his son (Sikiru) sleeping.

The deceased reportedly asked why his son was still sleeping at that hour of the day.

It was gathered that the son was upset as he grabbed a machete and hacked his father on different parts of the body.

The spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi told newsmen on Saturday that following the report, the DPO of Onipanu mobilized police operatives to the scene where the suspect was arrested.

Oyeyemi further stated that the victim was rushed to a general hospital for treatment but later passed on.

He noted that the police “strongly suspect” the son to be a cultist because he had no reasonable explanation for his action when interrogated.
