Supreme Court: How Tinubu Prevented What Happened In 1983 From Repeating Itself - Marafa

A chieftain of the Zamfara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Kabiru Marafa, has charged the state Governor, Bello Matawalle to reconcile with his deputy, Aliyu Gusau.

According to Marafa, the decision would help him (Matawalle) retain his position as the state Governor.

Marafa stated this while addressing supporters of the party during the distribution of 172 trucks of assorted grains purchased by former Governor Yari for the Ramadan fast.

He noted that he warned the state Governor not to join the ruling party but he was misled by some overzealous individuals.

He said, “I am calling on the Governor to meet our younger brother, the PDP Deputy Governor Mahdi Aliyu Gusau and seek out of court settlement so that he may not be thrown out of office.

“He has seen what happened in Ebonyi and Cross Rivers States.

“We told him that he should not defect to the APC because the APC is like a heaven, whoever goes to the heaven will never return to the earth.

“He did not heed to our warning and was misled by some overzealous individuals to defect to the APC and he is now regretting his actions.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on our supporters to remain calm and watch the unfolding drama.”

Marafa while speaking on their next step maintained that Yari and himself are in touch with other prominent personalities in the state on whether to remain in the APC or not.

He said, “The former Governor, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Yari, myself and other prominent personalities are currently in consultation and by the grace of God, we will soon come out with a solution.”
