Identities Of Some Victims Who Died In Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack Revealed

On 28th March, 2022, some Bandit terrorists planted explosives believed to be IEDs on the rail track around Katari, Kaduna State which saw a Kaduna-bound train derail.

According to reports, the train which took off around 6 pm from the Idu train station at the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on Monday hit an explosive device about 30 minutes to Rigasa train station in Kaduna.

After the train was forced to stop, video shared by eyewitness on social media showed the bandits shooting sporadically, which resulted in the death of some of the train passengers.

Days after the incident, the Kaduna State government has ascertained that there were 362 people on board, although some other reports revealed that the number was more than three hundred.

Here’s a list of some of the identities of the people who were on the train and reportedly died during the tragic attack.

Dr Chinelo Nwando

Chinelo, a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt was said to have resigned from her appointment at St Gerald’s hospital in Kaduna amidst plans to relocate abroad on Friday.

The doctor was said to have tweeted about her safety, asking for prayers when the train was attacked.

However, the female medical doctor was said to have later died from gunshot wounds sustained during the attack.

Barrister Musa Lawal Ozigi

Barrister Ozigi, a secretary General at the Trade Union Congress(TUC) in Nigeria.

The President of TUC, comrade Quadri Olaleye confirmed his death, adding that they also lost a Kwara state chairman in the attack.

Abdu Isa Kofar Mata

Abdu Isa Kofar Mata, a director of the board of technical education.

According to his younger brother, Musa died from gunshots sustained during the attack. His family has been devastated by his death.

Farida Sule

29-year-old lawyer, identified as Farida Sule Mohammed was among those killed in a terrorist attack that occurred on a train along the Abuja-Kaduna route on Monday, March 28.

Farida who was the daughter of Mallam Sule Mohammed, the National Organizing Secretary of the People’s Redemption Party was confirmed dead by her brother.

The deceased was buried at Yahaya Road Mosque in Kaduna at 4:pm on Tuesday, March 29, after a funeral prayer.

A friend of the deceased, Zahida Barau took to Facebook to describe her as a person with a good heart.
