Shehu Sani Reacts As Tinubu Meets UAE Leadership Over Visa Ban, Others

The former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani has reacted to the ruling of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ordering the transfer of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari to Kuje correctional facility.

Sani on Monday claimed that the former head of the IGP Intelligence Response Team might be harmed in prison.

He further stated that prison wardens would have much to do to ensure the safety of the embattled police officer when sent to prison.

According to Sani, Kyari might be beaten or harmed by prisoners which at one time or the other he had sent to prison.

The former lawmaker in a post on his Twitter account wrote, “When a policeman is ordered to be remanded in prison, the first concern of the prison wardens is how to keep him safe from the inmates he once arrested and led to their incarceration; in that case, he is kept in a separate cell to save him from being beaten or anyway harmed.”

Recall that Justice Emeka Nwike on Monday ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, to transfer Kyari and six others facing drug trafficking charges to the Kuje correctional centre.

The judge gave the order after Kyari and his co-defendant were denied bail.
