Gunmen Kill Traditional Ruler In Plateau

Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have killed a traditional ruler, Mustafa Ibrahim, the Garkuwan Yola Wakat, at Wase LGA of Plateau State.

The assailants attacked Garkuwan Yola Wakat and another traditional ruler, Muhammadu Adamu, on Tuesday, March 22.

A resident in the area, Abdullahi Usman told Daily Trust that the monarchs were on their way to a hospital, near Wase town to visit a patient when the gunmen attacked.

He said: “The body of Mustafa Ibrahim has since been recovered by the police and handed over to the family. We were at the scene of the incident this morning (Thursday).

“The deceased has been buried. The other victim, the village head of Yola, Muhammadu Adamu, has returned home, but the criminals went away with the motorcycle.”

The deceased traditional ruler was buried on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a mother of two, Tina Idoroyen has reportedly put her 5-year-old daughter’s hand into hot water for stealing fish.

Idoroyen, a food vendor who lives with her daughters at Ikot Ansa community in Calabar Municipal Local Council of Cross River State had prepared 19 pieces of fish for her food business but when she returned home she only met a piece left.

The enraged mother later discovered her 5-year-old ate the fish and proceeded to dip the little girl’s hands into hot water. Read more
