As All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention Screening Committee began its work on Tuesday evening, there are strong indications that all the national chairmanship aspirants will be cleared to face the delegates despite talks of consensus option. The Guardian learnt that the Governor Aminu Masari-led screening committee has been advised to make the exercise “accomodate aspirants for the entire party positions.”


Some top shots of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC,  have faulted reports that an unwritten agreement and understanding among founders of the party in 2013 ceded the 2023 presidential ticket of the party to the South-West geo-political zone, Vanguard reports.


According to The Nation, the North-South divide in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over zoning of the 2023 Presidential ticket is widening. Presidential aspirant Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto State governor, said yesterday that instead of talking about zoning, the party should give the ticket to the candidate that can win the election.

Governors and other key chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are plotting against the nomination of persons into key National Working Committee (NWC) positions by President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the party’s national convention holding on Saturday, Daily Trust reports.
