Borno: Soldier Kills 3 Civilians, Injures 13 Others

A military officer attached to Operation Hadin Kai, has killed three civilians, while thirteen others were injured in Mafa Local Government, Borno state.

According to security analyst, Zagazola Makaman, the soldier whose identity was not revealed recklessly shot at civilians in Mafa town on Wednesday.

An eyewitness who spoke on the incident noted that the soldier was under the influence of psychotropic substances.

The eyewitness said, “The lifeless body of three persons were laying down flat at Mafa presently while many people have sustained gunshots wounds.”

Sources revealed that the military officer has been disarmed and arrested by military authorities.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Army is yet to release a statement on the sad incident.
