South-West politicians from the Congress for Progressive Change bloc in the All Progressives Congress are set to lose out at the national convention following their rejection by governors in the region, The PUNCH has learnt.


According to The Nation, six days to the All Progressives Congress (APC) convention, there is no consensus yet on who will be the national chairman. President Muhammadu Buhari is believed to be supporting Senator Abdullahi Adamu, but other aspirants have obtained forms and are campaigning.


Stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and chieftains close to the Presidency are currently in high level discussions ahead of Saturday’s national convention of the ruling party in order to avoid a stalemate or revolt by aggrieved members, credible sources told the Daily Trust Sunday


Scheming for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a new twist as  Bauchi State governor Bala Mohammed, his Sokoto State counterpart Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and a former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki yesterday resolved to work together towards producing a consensus candidate ahead of the party primaries holding on May 28, Leadership reports.
