A Yaba Magistrate court in Lagos State has remanded  Mr Nice (Andrew) Omininikoron for 30 days.

Recall that Naija News earlier reported that Omininikoron, a Bus Rapid Transit driver was arrested in connection with the murder of a passenger, Oluwabamise Ayanwole.

The chief Magistrate, O.A. Salawu ordered that Ominnikoron be remanded for 30 days.

She stated that the suspect be held in police custody following the legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The defendant is charged with conspiracy, murder, rape and misconduct with regards to corpses.

The charge was read to the defendant, however,  his plea was not taken to court.

Salawu adjourned the case until April 11 for DPP advice.

Meanwhile, a female victim has informed the Punch that Omininikoron raped her on November 25, 2021, in the BRT bus.

According to the lady, who is a former salesgirl at a shop in Ajah, after she closed from work around 8pm, she boarded the BRT bus driven by the suspect.

She said Nice was to convey her from the Alesh Bus Stop in Ajah, to Jakande, along the Lekki Epe Expressway, when he decided to park the bus and rape her, armed with a nice.

“While on our way, he switched off the light of the bus, but the AC was on. But as we approached the first toll gate coming from Ajah, he suddenly parked the bus. He then told me to come and sit at the front and started asking me different questions,” she said. Read more
