Terrorists Kill Army Major, Abduct Another In Niger

Gallant troops of the Nigerian Army have recorded another victory against insurgents in the Northern region of the country after killing scores of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State, Naija News reports.

The insurgents according to reports, made a daring attempt to infiltrate Wulgo a border town in the shores of Lake Chad on Tuesday.

They are said to have stormed the base at about 6:00 PM shooting sporadically.

However, the ever-ready troops of Operation Hadin Kai countered the terrorists who reportedly came riding on 7 Hilux trucks all wielded with Anti Air Craft guns.

A top Security Analyst and Counter-Insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, reported that the troops swiftly engaged the terrorists in a gun battle, as a result, killed several of them.

The troops reportedly recovered weapons as well as two guntrucks from the terrorists while some of them fled the scene.

Makama, however, noted that the troops also chased the fleeing terrorists on five guntrucks.

Naija News understands that Wulgo is in the Marte Local government area of Borno state. The town is about 130km from Maiduguri, the capital of the restive Borno state.

Barely a week ago, troops of the Nigerian Army killed at least eleven Boko Haram terrorists in Borno and Yobe State.

Naija News reports that the troops of 29 Task Force Brigade Operation Hadin Kai overpowered the terrorists in three separate encounters in Borno and Yobe States.

The first encounter according to reports, happened in Goniri, a community in the Gujba local government area of Yobe State.

It was reported that some of the terrorists were planting mines, targeted at the gallant troops of the Nigerian Army when they met their Waterloo.

The troops upon sighting the insurgents reportedly opened fire which triggered the IED to explode killing two of the assailants.

Two others were killed while attempting to escape shots from the troops, Naija News learnt.
