2023: Those Planning To Rig Elections Should Think Twice - President Buhari Talks Tough

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the bandit terrorists’ attack which resulted in the killing of 63 persons in Kebbi State recently.

The President in his reaction, expressed shock at the level of disregard for human lives exhibited by the bandits and promised to bring the perpetrators to book.

He also sympathized with the families and loved ones of the victims.

It will be recalled Naija News had earlier reported that bandit terrorists killed no fewer than sixty-three local vigilantes in Kebbi State.

The dreaded group are said to have stormed the Zuru Emirate in the early hours of Monday to carry out the heinous act.

The rampage is coming shortly after a group of local security men known as ‘Yan Sa Kai, launched an onslaught against the bandits in the community.

In retaliation, the bandits reportedly regrouped and hid on trees along the road leading to their dens while they await the arrival of the local guard and laid ambush on them.

They reportedly opened fire after they had successfully trapped the vigilantes in the middle.

Reacting to the report, President Buhari in a statement on Tuesday by his special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu said the bandits have no regard for the sanctity of human lives.

He promised to tackle the monster decisively.

Buhari said: ”This egregious level of criminality is shocking and I want to assure Nigerians that I will do all it takes to tackle this monster decisively.”

“My greatest preoccupation is the threat to life posed by these murderous gangs and remorseless outlaws who have no slightest regard for the sanctity of life.

“While extending my sympathy to the families of the victims of this savagery, let me use this opportunity to also call on our security forces to be more proactive and redouble their efforts in order to frustrate the operational plans of the terrorists before they even launch attacks.”
