Cornerstone Tops Gainers Chart In Nigeria Capital Market

The Nigerian capital market on Monday saw investors lose ₦3.23 billion following the dip in equity capitalization by 0.01% at the end of eight hours of trading.

The equity capitalization on Monday dropped from ₦25.475 trillion made last Friday to ₦25.471 trillion on Monday.

The All-Share Index was down by 6.0 basis points to close at 47,262.61 compared to 47,268.61 recorded last week.

Investors at the Nigerian capital market on Monday traded 291.88 million shares valued at ₦2.85 billion in 4,792 deals.

This surpassed 179.32 million shares worth ₦2.12 which exchanged hands in 5,620 deals last week.

The gainers’ chart was led by Cornerstone following the rise in its share price by 9.38 per cent to close at ₦0.70kobo from ₦0.64kobo per share.

Wapic’s share price was up by 8.70 per cent to rise from ₦0.46kobo to ₦0.50kobo per share.

FTN Cocoa’s share rose by 8.33 per cent to move from ₦0.36kobo to ₦0.39kobo per share.

Honeywell Flour’s share increased by ₦0.19kobo to move from ₦3.70kobo to ₦3.89kobo per share.

Mutual Benefit gained 4 per cent to end trading with ₦0.26kobo from ₦0.25kobo per share.

The losers chart was topped by Niger Insurance shedding 8.70 per cent in share price to drop from ₦0.23kobo to ₦0.21kobo per share.

AIICO’s share dropped from ₦0.70kobo to ₦0.66kobo per share after losing 5.17 per cent during trading.

Linkage Assurance share price dropped by 5.17 per cent to end trading at ₦0.55kobo from ₦0.58kobo per share.

Regal Insurance lost 4.76 per cent to end trading with ₦0.40kobo from ₦0.42kobo per share.

Africa Prudential completed the list after shedding ₦0.30kobo from its market price to drop from ₦6.80kobo to ₦6.50kobo per share.

Jaiz Bank led the trading chart with 72.45 million shares valued at ₦57.25 million.

Access Bank followed with 23.05 million shares valued at ₦236.41 million.

UBA traded 19.99 million shares worth ₦169.14 million.

Transcorp sold 15.86 million shares worth ₦16.95 million, while GTCO traded 15.34 million valued at ₦399.01 million.
