Bamise Ayanwole: Police Reveal Where BRT Driver Was Arrested

The Lagos State Police Command has said Nice Andrew, the driver of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), who drove the abducted and murdered Oluwabamise Ayanwole was arrested in a hideout in Ogun State.

The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, made this known on Monday during a parade of the suspect on Monday at the command headquarters.

Alabi stated that Andrew was arrested by the Department of State Services, DSS, shortly after the lifeless body of Bamise was found and identified.

The police boss stated that Bamise’s corpse was found lying on the Carter Bridge by Ogogoro community in the Lagos Island area of the state.

Alabi disclosed that the corpse has been deposited at the morgue of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, for an autopsy.

The police chief, however, said that the suspect was subsequently handed over to the police for further necessary actions.

He said: “The BRT driver, Andrew Nice was caught in a hideout in Ogun State by operatives of the Department of State Services.

“He was subsequently handed over to the police for further necessary actions. As the suspect is being paraded today (Monday), we want to assure the public and indeed the bereaved family of the victim that justice will be served in this case.”

Recall that Ayanwole went missing while returning to Ota from Ajah on February 26 when she boarded a BRT bus with number 240257 going to Oshodi at about 7 pm at Chevron Bus-Stop.

The victim, who worked as a fashion designer in Ajah spent her weekends in Ota, Ogun State, with her sister, had sent some voice notes to a friend when she sensed danger on the bus.
