Sagay Speaks On His Involvement In P&ID Case

The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof Itse Sagay has accused Governor Mai Mala Buni of running so many hidden personal agendas instead of leading the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the right path.

Sagay stated this on Monday while reacting to the purported removal of Governor Buni as the Chairman, Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the APC.

According to Sagay, Buni’s removal is a welcome development and a pleasant surprise.

He said Buni was brought in to hold forth on a temporary basis but turned the position into a permanent job but now that he has been replaced, the party can make progress starting with the scheduled National Convention billed for March 26, 2022.

According to Sagay, “I believe Buni’s removal is a very healthy development for the APC. Now, we can look forward to a proper convention for the election of the new party leadership. After that, we can have a proper convention for the primaries”.

“Buni is a man who has too many axes to grind and instead of working for the interest of the party which asked him to do a six months job but he turned it into a permanent job. He had too many unknown agenda which he was slowly carrying out”.

“So, it was clear to all that he was no longer operating on behalf of the party but for his selfish interests. His removal to me is good news and I believe we can now make progress as a party”.

Naija News recalls in the unraveling leadership drama within the ruling APC, Governor Sani Bello of Niger State has said President Muhammadu Buhari gave his support and blessing to take over from Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.

Bello stated that he would be in charge of the ruling party pending the March 26 convention, stressing that the success of the much-anticipated event is his priority for now.
