Nasarawa State Senator Abdullahi Adamu has received a donation of ten million naira as support to fuel his All Progressive Congress national chairmanship bid.

President Muhammadu Buhari is said to have endorsed the former state governor for the position, Naija News understands.

In a statement on Sunday, the chairman, Council of All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders in Nasarawa State, Dr Kassim Muhammed Kassim, said they have raised N10 million from stakeholders in the North-Central to buy nomination and expression of interest form for Adamu.

Kassim while addressing journalists in Lafia, said the rationale behind the contribution was to show solidarity to Adamu and a way of saying ‘thank you’ for establishing high institutions in the state during his time as governor, which enabled them to acquire higher education.

He urged those who claimed to be supporters of the president and opposed his choice to have a re-think.

Meanwhile, the Emir of Katsina, Dr Abdulmuminin Kabir Usman, has revealed why he is backing the presidential ambition of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Usman said he is supporting Tinubu to become the next president in 2023 because the presidential hopeful assisted him in many ways when he was a district head.

The monarch said he will contribute to the campaign of the former governor of Lagos and advise him where necessary considering their long-standing relationship.

He made this known last Friday when he received members of the Arewa Organisations Movement for Asiwaju led by Senator Abu Ibrahim at his palace in Katsina.

He said: “We will look into whatever movement he is into, where we will support where there is need to support and we will correct where necessary. I knew Tinubu when he was governor while I was district head and he has assisted me in many ways. Now that I am on the throne, he is contesting for president, tell me why I should disown him.

“So, this man that you brought, Tinubu, is home here, he is the son of the soil and he has done a lot for me. I was in Lagos some three weeks ago, the first since 1967 and I have seen how Lagos is transformed and I concluded that all the country’s wealth is in Lagos.”
