Omokri Speaks On Spike In Ritual Killing, Internet Fraud
Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, on Friday revealed how ritual killings and internet fraud can be stopped in the country.
According to the political activist, ritual killings and internet fraud also known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ would stop when parents stop having children as a form of pension for their old age.
He further stated that the social vices would end when in-laws stop seeing their daughter’s husband as a source of income.
Omokri in a series of posts on his Twitter account wrote, “For yahoo and rituals to end in Nigeria, two things must occur:
“Parents must stop having children as a form of pension for old age.
“In-laws must stop seeing their daughter’s husband as an income source.
“If these two things don’t stop, yahoo and rituals won’t stop!”
In recent times, there had been calls for the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency over ritual killings in the country.
The call became heightened after four teenagers in Ogun State murdered a girl for a money ritual.
The teenagers during interrogation had claimed to have learnt the act on Facebook and wanted to be rich, hence the reason for killing the girl who happens to be the girlfriend of one of the suspects.
