Makinde Approves Car Loan For Oyo Primary School Teachers

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has announced plans for Senator Lekan Balogun to be installed as the  42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, on March 11, 2022.

The development was made known in a statement on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Dr. B. A. Olanrewaju.

According to the statement, Governor Makinde has approved March 11 as the date for the installation of the new Olubadan.

“Installation Ceremony of Olubadan of Ibadan: I wish to refer to a letter No.IBSELG.243/17 of 16th February, 2022 on the subject and inform you that the Executive Governor of Oyo State has approved Friday, March 11, 2022 as the date for the installation of the new Olubadan of Ibadan,” the statement reads in part.

It will be recalled that following the intrigues and drama on who will emerge the next Olubadan of Ibadan, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Monday (14th February), confirmed Senator Lekan Balogun as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Makinde approved Balogun’s appointment following a recommendation by the Olubadan-in-Council as made known in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Lekan Balogun as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland,” Makinde said.

“The appointment is in line with the Olubadan of Ibadan Chieftaincy Declaration, as well as the unique and time-tested tradition of our people.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Oyo State, I wish the newly confirmed Olubadan a successful reign blessed with peace and unprecedented progress.”
