A former Deputy Governor of Osun, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has sued for peace at the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election in the state.

He made this known during an interview with reporters on Saturday after casting his vote at C & S Primary School, Ita-Yemoo, Museum Extension, Ife East Moore Ward, in Ile-Ife.

Omisore, who is a supporter of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, advised party members in the state to maintain peaceful coexistence during and after the governorship primary election.

He said that primary election was very important as it determines who would pilot the affairs of the state for the next four years, urging contestants to be tolerant and patient during the exercise.

Primary election is a family affair, electorate here are law-abiding, they cooperate with the INEC officials on ground and did not pose an unnecessary problem to them.

“I believe that this primary election is transparent enough and would satisfy the voters as well.

“I admonish the contestants to take the results in good faith and believe that it is the will of God for them,” he said.

In related news, Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has recorded a resounding ward victory against Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola in Saturday’s governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is as Oyetola cruised to victory at Ward 8, Ifofin, Ilesha East of the Minister in the ongoing primary election according to results obtained by Naija News.

Though Aregbesola is not contesting, his anointed candidate, Moshood Adeoti lost in the ward results.

It was gathered that Governor Oyetola got a total of 309 votes while Adeoti recorded 146 votes in the ward results.
