Yomi Aliyu, lawyer to Sunday ‘Igboho’ Adeyemo, has denied reports that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State was responsible for the attack on the residence of the Yoruba Nation agitator.

Naija News reports that some armed hoodlums on Saturday invaded Sunday Igboho’s residence in the Soka area in Ibadan, killing one person and injuring many others.

Confirming the attack, Aliyu said the thugs macheted aides and associates of the Yoruba Nation campaigner during the attack, which has been widely condemned.

He asserted that the thugs stormed the same house of the Yoruba Nation agitator that the Department of State Services attacked on July 1, last year.

But in a post via his Facebook page on Sunday, Aliyu exonerated Makinde from the attack on his client’s residence, asking the public to disregard any rumour linking the governor to the incident.

Aliyu denied the rumour that the governor sent hoodlums to destroy Sunday Igboho’s house or kill anybody wearing Oduduwa Nation shirt and fez cap.

He said the governor should have addressed the clash between some members of the Park Management System and a group known as Federal Boys, which led to the death of one person and others who were injured.

Aliyu, however, disclosed that all the six governors of the South-West are strenuously working behind the scene for the release of the Yoruba Nation agitator.

He wrote, “The news going around that it was Governor Seyi Makinde that was sending hoodlums to destroy Chief Sunday Igboho’s house or kill anybody wearing Oduduwa Nation shirt and fez cap is far from the truth and should be discountenanced.

“The complaint is that as Chief Security Officer of the state, the governor should have ordered security men to quench the upheaval that has led to two deaths though yet unconfirmed within this weekend alone.

“Like I used to say in all my interviews, all the six governors of the South-West, including Seyi Makinde, are strenuously working behind the scene for the release of Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka. Igboho Oosa.

“Kindly disregard any news on social media linking Governor Seyi Makinde and/or any South-West governor to the anti-Sunday Igboho movement.
