Court Picks Date To Deliver Judgement On Nnamdi Kanu's Suit Against DSS

The family of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has threatened to invoke Prima Facie evidence against the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

Kanu’s brother, Kanunta, in a statement on behalf of the family on Tuesday, stated that the Buhari government has refused to give clarification on Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest, extradition, and trial.

Kanunta: “President Mohammadu Buhari’s led administration has failed to proffer clarifications on the processes deployed in extraditing the freedom fighter.

“As a family, we insist on knowing the exact location from where our brother was intercepted, as alleged by the Nigerian government and how come no clarification has been given up until this date.

“The action of the Federal Government for us amount to illegality, and you can not put illegality on illegality and expect it to stand. So, if the Court failed to adhere to constitutional law, we would be compelled to invoke the Prima Facie evidence against the Federal Government”.

Recall that the IPOB leader was allegedly arrested and extradited back to Nigeria from Kenya to face terrorism charges at a Federal High Court, Abuja.

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Blows Hot, Warns Against Smear Campaign, Division

Meanwhile, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has berated those behind the smear campaign against his legal team and the Biafra struggle.

In a statement on Tuesday issued by IPOB lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the separatist described those behind the propaganda as traitors and desperate enemies of the struggle.

Ejiofor quoted the IPOB leader as saying that he would no longer tolerate any form of distraction, division or infighting among the group and will not stand for any insult to the legal team.

The legal practitioner said Kanu made the submission during a routine visit at the detention facility of the Department of State Security, DSS, in Abuja, on Monday.
