Aisha Buhari Visits Amaechi, Salutes Minister On Daura Chieftaincy Title

The First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari has congratulated the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over the conferment of a traditional title on him by the Daura Emirate Council.

Naija News reports that the former Rivers governor was turbaned as Dan Amanar Daura (trusted son of Daura) by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouq Umar, at a turbaning ceremony held on Saturday in Daura, Katsina State.

On Wednesday, Aisha alongside her aides visited the minister and his wife, Dame Judith Amaechi at their residence in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In photos of her visit to Amaechi on her social media pages, the Transport minister and his wife presented gifts to Mrs Buhari.

She wrote: “I was received by the Hon. Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and his dear wife, Dame Judith when I paid them a congratulatory visit for his coronation as the Dan Amana of Daura by the Daura Emirate council recently,”

Meanwhile, an attack by unknown gunmen on the Mmahu autonomous community in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo state has left seven prominent community leaders dead.

Naija News gathered that the leaders including the president-general of the community, Charles Mgaraho were all killed during the attack on Tuesday morning.

Six other leaders killed during the invasion were identified as Edeme Okoro, Issac Ojenna, Anene Funky, Chasity Paulinus, Ndubuisi Nwabuishi, and Ifeyirinwoke Junior.

An indigene of the community, Elvis Iheanacho who spoke to TheCable on the incident lamented the dangerous trend cases of insecurity has assumed in the area and generally in the country.

He said God needs to “come to our rescue and remove all the evildoers or anybody that will instigate problem in our land”.
