Emir Of Jama’are: Buhari Mourns Monarch Who Reigned For 50 Years

Tafa Balogun Will Be Remembered For Motivating Police Officers - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the death of the Emir of Jama’are, Ahmad Wabi III, as a painful loss to Bauchi State and the country in general.

The Nigerian leader added that the demise of one of the longest-reigning traditional rulers in Africa is the end of an era that can never be regained.

Naija News had reported that the monarch, who reigned for 50 years, passed away at about 12 midnight on Sunday after battling a protracted illness.

The late 92-year-old traditional ruler left behind two wives and 35 children. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

In a statement on Sunday evening by his media aide, Garba Shehu, the President said the late monarch’s enormous contributions to peaceful coexistence would not be forgotten.

Buhari, however, extended heartfelt sympathy to the family, the Jama’are Emirate Council, the government and the entire people of Bauchi State over the death of the emir.

The statement reads: “Wabi III’s demise is a great loss, not only to Bauchi State but also the entire country because his enormous contributions to peaceful coexistence are incalculable.”

”The late Emir was a decent man who had spent 50 years serving his people without any controversy trailing his remarkable reign.

“I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy to the family, the Jama’are Emirate Council, the government and the entire people of Bauchi State over the death of this great traditional ruler.

”May his soul rest in peace. May Allah reward his good deeds with Aljanna.”
