Woman Allegedly Stabs Her Husband’s Nephew To Death In Ogun Over Broken Mirror

One Cynthia Olukiowu has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing her husband’s nephew during an altercation.

The 30-year-old housewife according to reports, got into a fight with Habeeb Aremu (her husband’s nephew) over a glass allegedly broken by the victim.

Naija News understands that the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force got wind of the incident and arrested Olukiowu who resides in the Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking on the incident which happened last Saturday, the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement released on Sunday said the suspect was arrested following a distress call received by policemen attached to Agbado divisional headquarters.

He explained that the police were told that a teenager was stabbed in the neck by his uncle’s wife during an altercation.

Oyeyemi said, “It was revealed that a mirror used in the house got broken and the deceased was alleged to have broken it.

“It was the allegation that led to disagreement between the deceased and his uncle’s wife, subsequent upon which the suspect took a kitchen knife and used it to stab the deceased in his neck.”

Upon the distress call, the DPO Agbado division CSP Kehinde Kuranga quickly led his men to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.

Naija News understands that Aremu was found in the pool of his own blood when policemen arrived, he was immediately rushed to hospital and subsequently confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

His corpse according to the report has been deposited at Ifo general hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The PPRO however said the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
