CAF Approves Venue For Nigeria vs Ghana 2022 World Cup Playoff

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved the use of the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja for the Nigeria and Ghana 2022 world cup playoff.

Naija News understands that the playoffs would start in March 2022 and the first leg of the march will be held in Accra while Nigeria will also host Ghana in Abuja in the return leg of the face-off.

Nigeria vs Ghana match first game will be played on 23rd March while the return will be played on 29th March.

Naija News reports that the venue approval was contained in a memo dated February 3, 2022, and addressed to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary and signed by CAF development director, Raul Chipenda.

However, CAF has ordered that all necessary fixes including the pitch, floodlights and dressing room at the MKO Abiola stadium be done and made up to the required standards before their second inspection visit.

Recall that the Super Eagles played their home fixtures during the initial rounds of the World Cup qualifiers at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
