Ejikeme Mmesoma: JAMB Reveals Why It Involved DSS In Alleged Fake Result

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has shifted the dates for the conduct of the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Naija News reports that the change in date was made public in its weekly bulletin released on Monday, 31st January.

According to the board, the 2022 UTME will now hold from Friday, May 6 to Monday, May 16 while the mock-UTME examination has been scheduled for April 16.

The February 12 to 19 date for the commencement of the sale of the 2022 UTME/DE application forms however remain unchanged.

It will be recalled that JAMB had previously said the mock examination would be held on the 20th April 2022, While UTME holds from 20th to 30th April 2022 but a new date has been announced.

Explaining the reason for the change in date, JAMB said the adjustment became necessary so there will be no clash in dates for students/candidates sitting other external examinations in April.

The board also announced the introduction of Computer Studies and Physical and Health Education as part of its UTME subjects for 2022.

Meanwhile, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), last Monday, stated that the National Business and Technical Examinations Board, (NABTEB) advanced level certificate is not acceptable as a requirement for Direct Entry into tertiary institutions.

The examination body noted that the decision was reached following the discovery that relevant government policies on A/Level programmes do not permit NABTEB from conducting Advanced Level examinations.

JAMB in a statement released through its Director of Admissions, Mohammed Ahmed, and forwarded to Vice-Chancellors and other Heads of tertiary institutions in the country, said it would not process the admission of any candidate with NABTEB A/L Certificate.
