A statement released by the spokesman for the Senator, Yekeen Olaniyi, said the trained lawyer died on Friday in the United Kingdom at the age of 47.
The statement added that the wife of the lawmaker was hale and hearty until her demise.
The statement reads: “With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we announce the death of our wife, mother and sister, Chief (Barr.) Angela Nwaka Folarin.
“The wife of Oyo Central Senator was confirmed dead on Friday afternoon. She breathed her last in the UK.
“The deceased was hale and hearty until the angel of death knocked on the door. May Almighty God Comfort us and Grant Late Angela an eternal rest.”
In other news, the Abuja office of Thisday newspaper was invaded by some unknown gunmen on Thursday.
The newspaper, in a statement, said that the gunmen stormed the office located in Utako District in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) around 3 a.m.
The statement added that the gunmen forced their way into the office and threatened to kill the staff on duty if they attempt to contact the police.
It added that the gunmen left after ransacking the office for about 45 minutes and told the staff that they would be back again.
The newspaper said the incident has been reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, in Utako.
