Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has appealed to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to ensure that the governorship primary election is peaceful.

He made this known in a statement on Thursday released by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

The governor, in the statement, said the party members must ensure that the governorship primary poll across the 177 wards of the party in the state is free and fair.

He also appreciated the aspirants for their great effort at mobilising for the ruling party and working hard to make sure the APC retain power in the state.

However, Fayemi also urged residents of the state to go about their daily routine without fear of intimidation, while calling on security operatives to protect the lives and properties of the citizens.

The Chairman of the APC Committee for Ekiti Governorship Primary, Gov Abubakar Badaru, has confirmed that no fewer than 183,000 members would be participating in the party’s primaries.

Badaru disclosed this in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital yesterday during an interaction with the APC aspirants.
