‘Keke Napep’ Rider’s Wife Poisons Herself, One-year-old Baby In Lagos
The body a woman, Rejoice Ukpai and her one-year-old baby has been discovered in a bush path.
It is belived that the woman who is married to a tricycle driver gulped a poisonous substance and gave some to her baby, as a container of the substance was found close to where their bodies were.
The incident took place in Abaranje, a community in Igando/Ikotun Local Council Development Area, LCDA, of Alimosho, Lagos.
Residents in the area says she was seen at about 10pm on Monday suffering from excruciating pains and that was when she revealed the substance she consumed.
The residents subsequently gave her and the baby palm oil.
Her husband, Ekene Ukpai was in shock when he was taken to the location where the bodies were found. He stated that his wife told him she was going to a vigil the previous day.
He said: “Out of curiosity, I called the Pastor of the church to know if there was any vigil on a Monday and he said there wasn’t.
“When I confronted her, she said she wanted to go and pay her contribution to the person coordinating it and I allowed her to go with the baby, while I went to work.
“When I returned, she was nowhere to be found.
”I went to where she told me she was going but met the apartment locked.
“I called her Pastor’s wife to ask after my wife and baby, but she said she did not see them.
“It was the Pastor that invited me this morning(yesterday) to the spot where their bodies laid.”
