The parents of Abdulmalik Tanko have deserted their home in the Tudun Murtala area of Kano State.

Naija News reports that Tanko is the Proprietor of Noble Kids School and the suspected killer of five-year-old, Hanifa Abubakar.

According to Daily Trust, the parents of the confessed killer ran away from their residence and country home in Tudunwada over fears of being attacked by irate youths.

A source told the newspaper that following the crime committed by Tanko, residents of the area attempted to attack the parents.

He added that the mob action made the culprit’s parent flee their house.

The source said, “No one will tell you exactly where they are. They have relocated to an unknown place. The mother has refused to collect his children and had somehow disowned him.”

Recall that the disgraced school proprietor had confessed to killing Hanifa with rat poison after abducting her in December. He further dismembered and buried her secretly at one of the branches of the school.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Monday said he will not waste time to assent to the death warrant of the confessed killer.

Ganduje in his statement noted that he would abide by the constitutional provision to assent to the death sentence of Tanko, in the event that it is passed by the court.

The Kano State Governor stated this while he paid a condolence visit at the family’s residence in Dakata/Kawaji area of the state.
